AI Transparency Notice

Cruitical, Inc. Effective Date: March 20, 2026 Last Updated: March 20, 2026

Why This Page Exists

Cruitical uses artificial intelligence to evaluate candidate profiles and generate Candidate Passports. We believe you have the right to understand exactly how AI is involved in that process. This page explains it in plain language.

This notice supplements our Privacy Policy, which contains the full legal details.

How It Works

When you submit your resume to Cruitical, here is what happens:

Step 1: We Read Your Resume

Our AI parses your resume and extracts structured information: your work history, education, skills, projects, and achievements.

Step 2: We Research Your Background

Our AI conducts research using publicly available information on the internet. This includes:

  • Your public LinkedIn profile (if available)
  • Your public GitHub profile and repositories (if available)
  • Your personal website or portfolio (if available)
  • Published articles, talks, or research papers attributed to you
  • Public information about your employers, schools, and organizations (to understand the context of your experience)

We only access information that is already publicly available. We do not access anything behind a login, paywall, or privacy setting.

Step 3: We Build Your Candidate Passport

Using the combined information from your resume and public sources, our AI generates your Candidate Passport. This includes:

  • Profile Summary: A concise narrative of your professional background and strengths.
  • Career Trajectory Analysis: How cohesive your career path is, what threads connect your experiences, and where there are gaps.
  • Experience Enrichment: Context about your past employers and roles that adds depth beyond bullet points.
  • Skills Assessment: Your skill levels based on evidence from your work, projects, and education.
  • Role Fit Analysis: How well your profile matches specific roles you’re targeting, with specific strengths and gaps identified.
  • Company Fit Analysis: How well you align with specific companies based on their culture, tech stack, and hiring patterns.
  • Adjacent Opportunities: Roles you may not have considered but your profile suggests you’d be a strong fit for.

Step 4: You Review It

Your Candidate Passport is generated for you. You can review it, understand where you stand, and use the feedback to strengthen your candidacy.

What AI Does NOT Do

To be clear about the boundaries:

  • AI does not make hiring decisions. Cruitical generates assessments. Hiring decisions are made by humans at employer companies.
  • AI does not access your private data. We do not log into your accounts, access private messages, read your email, or access password-protected content.
  • AI does not guarantee employment. A strong Candidate Passport does not guarantee you will receive an offer. It is a tool to help you and prospective employers make better-informed decisions.
  • AI does not replace human judgment. The Passport is one input in a broader evaluation process. It is designed to complement, not replace, human decision-making.

The AI Models We Use

ProviderModelRole
GoogleGeminiPrimary AI model for passport generation, analysis, and evaluation
OpenAIGPT modelsFallback AI model used when the primary model is unavailable

Your resume and professional data are transmitted to these AI providers for processing. They process the data on our behalf to generate your Passport. They do not use your data to train their models (per our agreements with them), and they do not retain your data beyond what is needed to complete the processing request.

Fairness and Bias

We take fairness seriously. Here is what we are doing:

  • No demographic scoring. The Passport evaluates professional qualifications, skills, experience, and career trajectory. It does not score candidates based on race, gender, age, ethnicity, national origin, disability, religion, sexual orientation, or any other protected characteristic.
  • Evidence-based assessments. Scores and evaluations are tied to specific, identifiable evidence from your resume and public profile, not subjective impressions.
  • Bias monitoring. We are committed to regularly reviewing our AI outputs for potential bias patterns and taking corrective action where needed.
  • Regulatory awareness. We are aware of and tracking compliance with AI-in-hiring regulations including NYC Local Law 144, the Colorado AI Act, California CRD guidelines, Texas TRAIGA, and Illinois HB 3773. As these regulations evolve, so will our practices.

Your Rights

You have the right to:

  1. Know that AI is being used. You’re reading this page, so: done.
  2. Understand what data AI uses. Everything is described above.
  3. Access your AI-generated Passport. You can view and download your Candidate Passport at any time.
  4. Contest inaccuracies. If your Passport contains errors, contact us and we will investigate and correct them.
  5. Request human review. You can request that a human at Cruitical review any AI-generated assessment.
  6. Opt out entirely. You can request deletion of your data and Passport at any time.
  7. Opt out of employer sharing. You can use the Passport for personal feedback only, without your profile being shared with employer partners.
